DIY Boot Booties {For Loose Fitting Boots}
Even though it's not quite fall, I'm so ready. Northern VA has had a sight nip in the air all week. I finally pulled out my jeans. Yesterday I wore boots to church and had my first salted caramel mocha of the season. So yeah, that pretty much makes it official.
But back to the boots. I love my boots. I bought them off DSW's clearance rack last fall and never regretted it....except for the first day I tried to wear them and realized they were just too loose around my heel. Boots are supposed to fit snugly through the heel, but finding the perfect fit can be difficult if you have narrow heels (like me) or can't afford to pay top dollar for super nice boots (also like me). My boots are technically a "riding boot" made with extra room through the calf so jeans fit inside. The roomy calves are awesome, the roomy heel not so much.
But I found a solution.

Last Dress of Summer
Yet another dress for which I did not create a tutorial...but it's a pretty easy concept. I'm sure you can figure it out! :)
This was my first project sewing knit fabrics together and I pleased to discover how easy it is. I used an old Loft shirt (from the last year they made substantial knit tees!), the bottom half of an Old Navy sundress (the kind with a smocked waist), and the knit belt from another ON dress.

Dress Refashion // Tie Neck Dress
So I found this awesome dress at the thrift store.
Awesome, right? I could go camping in it. (In the poor dress's defense, it was originally a maternity dress.)
I really loved the fabric. It's a nice, swishy, machine-washable rayon in an adorable print.
I originally had planned to knock off a particular ModCloth dress, but was unable to find a contrasting fabric that I liked. (Don't worry, one day....just be patient.) I realized the swaths of fabric I cut off the bottom could easily be refashioned into my-super-favorite-style: neck ties!
